GIS maps of settlement of Yakutia's indigenous minorities updated

Data on education and teaching of native language and culture, as well as on the functioning of traditional culture in the places of settlement of small indigenous minorities of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were added to the maps. GIS maps were updated within the framework of the State Contract No. 02-OK of 16.09.2024 from the Ministry of Arctic Development and Northern Peoples' Affairs of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for the provision of services for organizing expeditions to the places of residence of small indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation, as well as the development of other materials within the framework of the international project “Digitalization of the linguistic and cultural heritage of indigenous peoples of the Arctic”.

The maps were compiled by the staff of the Ecology and Geography Department of the Institute of Natural Sciences of the North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU) by Filippova Victoria Viktorovna and Savvinova Antonina Nikolayevna in cooperation with the federal state information system “Unified Digital National Spatial Data System” of Roskadastr and the staff of the UNESCO Department of the North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU).
