A famous artist Wassily Kandinsky has Mansi roots on his father’s side. His surname was formed from the naming of a well-known family of the Kondinsky principality rulers
Evdokia Ivanovna Rombandeeva was born on April 22, 1928 in the village of Khoshlog, Berezovsky District, Ostyako-Vogulsky National Okrug (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra).
Yuvan Nikolaevich Shestalov (June 22, 1937 - November 5, 2011) - Mansi writer, the first professional poet of the Mansi, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1962.

‘Йоҥчэдиэ’ project (from the Yukaghir language it means ‘a bell’) took place thanks to the support of a grant from the head of the Rupublic of Sakha (Yakutia) among the media. A total of 200 releases have been prepared, with forty five-minute TV lessons in each language. The project is designed for people who do not speak or have poor command of their native language.

The author and leader of the project is Natalia Smetanina, the director is Nina Kornilova.
