XX International Exhibition-Fair ‘Treasures of the North’

From 28th of April to 2nd of May Moscow hosted the XX International exhibition-fair ‘Treasures of the North’. The aim of the exhibition is to preserve and develop unique culture of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East. Krasnoyarsk Krai also took part in the exhibition. The delegation of Krasnoyarsk Krai included representatives of Taimyr, Evenkia, and Turukhansky District. Theme of this exhibition was dedicated to 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War (World War II) and the soldiers of the North-Eastern Military District ‘My countrymen are glorious in their exploits’. Each district told about its heroes.

For five days, masters and artists told and demonstrated the culture of the indigenous peoples of the Taymyr. They held masterclasses in beadwork and bone carving. The Taymyr College presented an exhibition of dolls in national dress, which greeted in the languages of the Taymyr peoples. And also the participants of the festival took part in various contests in the nominations ‘Best exposition’, ‘Best work of national art’, ‘Nomad of the North’.

Svetlana Siguney, a teacher at the Taymyr College, presented a collection of dolls ‘Peoples of Taymyr’ for the contest ‘The Best Work of National Folk Art’ in the nomination ‘Traditional National Doll’.

The puppets are equipped with a sound module ‘Dialogue’, which is voiced by students of the Taymyr College, in the languages of five ethnic groups of the Taymyr: Dolgans, Nganasans, Evenks, Nenets, Enets.
