Tuba
Tubalars (self-designation tuba, outdated name Tuvinians) - indigenous small-numbered Turkic-speaking people living in the northern part of the Altai Republic of the Russian Federation. The self-designation of tuba (tuva) kizhi, tubalary, and yish kizhi ("forest people"). Tubalars live east of Katun, along the Biya River and along the shores of Lake Teletskoye.
Tubalars belong to the northern Altaians, but they live on the border with the southern Altaians and have adopted many elements of language, culture, and life from them. This was also facilitated by mixing with Kumandins and Chelkans.

Николай Улагашев родился в местности Кам-Тыт урочища Сары-Кокша. В 16 лет ослеп. После этого стал странствовать по Алтаю и исполнять народные героические сказания. В 1937 году алтайский писатель Павел Васильевич Кучияк и московская фольклористка Гарф, Анна Львовна начали записывать за ним фольклор.
