On November 23, 2023, the Interregional Forum of Innovative Projects "The Future of The Nomadic School" was held online

Over 90 people from the following regions took part in the Forum: Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Amur Region, Arctic districts of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). During the Forum, a wide range of issues related to the organization of nomadic schools were considered, experience was exchanged and problems and prospects of nomadic education were discussed. The Forum was moderated by the Yakut branch of the Federal Institute of Native Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation.

         Natalia Sitnikova, the acting director of the branch, noted the innovative projects of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to create a network of nomadic preschool groups and social partnership, mentoring and early vocational guidance projects in Yakutia, the organization of pedagogical practice of members of nomadic families in places of traditional residence of parents in Yamal, nomadic schools with many years of positive experience in the Amur region, Yakutia, new trends in the organization of camp schools with distance learning in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

         Anatoly Zhozhikov, Chairman of the UNESCO Chair of NEFU, made a presentation on "Popularization and exchange of experience on traditional reindeer herders and nomadic lifestyle on a single Arctic portal", spoke about the Arctic Council's project "Digitalization of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the indigenous peoples of the Arctic" with a demonstration of the content of the Arctic multilingual portal, and also spoke about the project of creating a mobile multifunctional telecommunications complex "Tundra.”

Following the discussion of this report, it was decided to create a separate section on nomadic education on the portal, as well as the need to organize permanent Internet access for reindeer herders leading a nomadic lifestyle and children of nomadic schools.

The Forum participants were satisfied with the work of the Forum and expressed their wishes to hold events of this scale more often in order to share experiences between regions where there are nomadic schools.

Organizer: Yakut branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Institute of Native Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation".

Participants: managers, educators, teachers, pedagogues of educational organizations located in places of traditional residence and economic activity of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East.

Purpose of the forum: to promote the development of education for children of indigenous minorities in a single educational space, to create conditions for preserving intergenerational continuity of teachers who carry out professional activities in nomadic areas; to demonstrate the growing potential of nomadic education and the results of its effective application in practical educational activities.
